Toward the Light (ひかり、さす方へ, Hikari, Sasu Hō e) is the eighth episode of Shōjo☆Kageki Revue Starlight. It originally aired in Japan on August 30th, 2018.
Introduction[]
"Someday, we'll stand together on that stage." That is the vow of fate that Karen and Hikari made as children. One day, we'll stand on that stage together. This is the first time I've seen the film. Despite having moved to London, leaving Karen behind, Hikari continued to pursue her dream with that feeling in her heart... Until she lost it. Hikari struggles desperately in her revue with Nana. What is that important thing she lost?
Premise[]
What’s past is prologue. The promise Hikari made with Karen is what fuels her determination, but life rarely occurs according to plan.[1]
Summary[]
A flashback shows Hikari back at The Royal Academy of Theatrical Actors in England, where she has been keeping in contact with Karen and is working her best to fulfill their promise. The giraffe summons her and other students to revue auditions, where upon placing second, she finds she has lost her drive to perform, and has even forgotten the promise that had led her to the stage in the first place. Realizing that losing the auditions makes one lose their brilliance, she demands the giraffe allow her to participate in the upcoming auditions, which leads Hikari back to Seisho Music Academy where they are to take place. In the present, Hikari battles against Nana, and in a burst of emotion upon remembering her promise with Karen, she takes over the presence of the stage and defeats Nana. Nana reminds her that Starlight is a tragedy about parting, and that she will have to battle against Karen one day.
