Star Performances, also known as Vs. Revues, are an event type in Re LIVE, in which players use their teams of Stage Girls to engage in real time turn based battles against each other and raise up in player rankings each season.
The main rewards for each season are memoirs, a corresponding badge, and medals which can be used to purchase items in the Vs. Revue Shop. For special Star Performances with restricted members, awards can include trophies that can be placed in a user's theater instead of memoirs.
Gameplay[]
Playing real time against other users allows the user to accumulate points for their Star Score with every win. While in Events a loss does not mean decreased event points, in Vs. Revues losses will make the player lose points, and their ranking will be affected.
Depending on their Star Score, the user is placed in categories called Star Ranks, which ascend from the letters G to A, where there are no demotions, and S, SS, and SSS, where they can be demoted by losing Star Score. In the past, Star Ranks were Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Legend. At the threshold of each category, winning two out of three games in a Rank Up Revue meant the user would move up from their previous category.
Moving up in Star Ranks allows the user to increase the total cost of their team independently of the user's level in the game, which in turn allows them to form stronger teams for each Star Rank.
The timeframe for each Star Performance is called a season, and at the end of every season, the user will receive rewards based on their final Star Rank. The rewards can include memoirs, a corresponding badge, and medals which can be used to purchase items in the Vs. Revue Shop and Vs. Revue Shop Platinum. In the past, the user would retain a portion of their Star Score and be placed two Star Ranks lower at the beginning of the season, so that they would not have to start from the lowest Star Rank again. In the current system, the user starts at the Star Rank they achieved at the end of the previous season.
After each season, the limited time memoirs from each season become available for purchase with medals at the Vs. Revue Shop.
Normal Season[]
Before the introduction of the Pick & Ban system, the user had to form a unit with a cost limit that increased as the user's Star Rank ascended from Bronze, to Silver, to Gold, to Platinum, to Legend.
Once Pick & Ban was introduced, the cost limit was removed, and instead the user can freely form a team out of ten Stage Girls. Upon being matched with an opponent, the user will be able to ban two Stage Girls from the opponent's formation, while their opponent will do the same for the user's formation. The formation used to challenge each other will have to be formed with up to five out of the remaining eight Stage Girls.
Whereas before Pick & Ban the user would be demoted two Star Ranks at the beginning of each new normal season, in the current system they retain their Star Rank between seasons.
Special Season[]
The user has to form a team with up to five Stage Girls, which will not be known to their opponent until the match starts. All users start from the lowest Star Rank every special season.
Top Star Performance[]
The Top Star Performance (トップスタァ公演, Top Star Kōen) is a tournament-style championship that has taken place once a year exclusively in the Japanese server. 32 or 16 participants were chosen through an online qualifying round in the app, with 4 finalists participating in an in-person round in the 2019 edition and an online round in the 2020 edition. The participants received prizes such as commemorative shirts and in-game badges, as well as a real trophy for the finalists.
