I'm the Genie of the Lamp
Aladdin:
"What's this!? Something came out of the lamp when I rubbed it!"
Genie in the Lamp:
"I am the Genie of the Lamp. Now, Master, I will grant you anything you wish."
Aladdin:
"Genie...of the Lamp!? You'll grant me anything I wish for!?"
Genie in the Lamp:
"That's right -- anything. Do you want to be rich enough that you'll never have to work a day in your life again? Or, perhaps you'll like a beautiful wife that meets all your needs and desires?"

(Wow... It's almost as if the genie floating above the stage is actually real...!)

(With wire work and projection mapping that impressive, no matter what the performance is you'll be entranced...)

(Just like how a genie can use magic, people are able to create such wonders and use them as if they are their own inherent powers.)
Genie in the Lamp:
"If you decide to wish now, I'll grant you any three wishes of your choosing! You're not allowed to use a wish to wish for more wishes, though!"

(Having said that, the Genie role is pretty awesome. Being free, funny, and mischievous... I'd love to play a role like that even for just one time.)

(That's it!)
Acting Coach:
So, as I explained the other day, we're holding a workshop to demonstrate how to play the role of non-human characters.
Acting Coach:
Right, let's go in alphabetical order of name. Tsukasa Ebisu.

Okay! I'm Tsukasa Ebisu, second-year student in the Stage Expression Course. I'll be playing the role of the Genie in "Aladdin and the Genie of the Lamp"!
Tsukasa (Genie in the Lamp):
"Master, with the greatest respect, I shall call you Aladdin from hereon in. What is it you wish for?"
Tsukasa (Genie in the Lamp):
"I'm sure you have at least one or two dreams or wishes. If you think hard enough, I'm sure you'll be able to conjure up a third one, too!"
Tsukasa (Genie in the Lamp):
"One of my dreams is to someday acquire my freedom and travel the world! The life of a genie is usually pretty busy, so my dream is not an easy one to fulfill!"

(It looked as if Tsukasa was floating in the air for a moment there...)

(She combined an extravagant overaction with her upper body with a sliding step movement to make it look like she was floating.)

(Heh heh, the rendition of "Aladdin and the Genie of the Lamp" she went to see the other day seems to have really ignited the passion inside her.)

Tsukasa, your Genie really was something. It felt as if you had transcended the limits of a human being.

It's reassuring to hear I get your seal of approval. We must be sure to thank the cast of "Aladdin and the Genie of the Lamp".

The Genie from that play gave you lots of inspiration, eh?

Yeah, it felt like their performance was asking me "this is how we portray the Genie; how are you going to respond?"

I would have liked for you and the others to have seen it too...! I wish I would have gotten enough tickets for everybody.

I heard the servers for the ticket site were down because it was so popular.

Still, I've got a pretty good image of how sensational a play it was. The passion in your performance paints a pretty clear picture of that.

That's kind of you to say that, but just that one scene is not enough to do the play justice. The Genie was superb from start to finish!

Really? How so?
Tsukasa (Genie in the Lamp):
"I am the Genie of the Lamp. Now, Master, I will grant you anything you wish."
Tsukasa (Aladdin):
"Genie...of the Lamp!? You'll grant me anything I wish for!?"
Tsukasa (Genie in the Lamp):
"That's right -- anything. Do you want to be rich enough that you'll never have to work a day in your life again? Or, perhaps you'll like a beautiful wife that meets all your needs and desires?"
Tsukasa (Genie in the Lamp):
"If you decide to wish now, I'll grant you any three wishes of your choosing! You're not allowed to use a wish to wish for more wishes, though!"
Shizuha (Aladdin):
"Really? I can wish for anything?"

......
Tsukasa (Genie in the Lamp):
"That's right, Aladdin!"
Shizuha (Aladdin):
"Okay, first I want you to eat this treat with me."
Tsukasa (Genie in the Lamp):
"Ooh! That's my favorite chocolate treat! Of course I will oblige!"
Shizuha (Aladdin):
"Next... I have a friend called Lalafin. I want you to clean her room with me."
Tsukasa (Genie in the Lamp):
"Your wish is my command. Be careful of the floor. If you tread on the sword prop, it will hurt like hell and you'll also be in a world of trouble."
Shizuha (Aladdin):
"And next on the list... Can you accompany me on a shopping trip the next day we have off?"
Tsukasa (Genie in the Lamp):
"Not a problem. Would you like me to hold the shopping bags?"
Shizuha (Aladdin):
"That would be much appreciated. And also..."
Tsukasa (Genie in the Lamp):
"Hey hey! I'm pretty sure I made myself clear when I said three wishes. You've had your lot."
Shizuha (Aladdin):
"Come to think of it, you're the Genie from the play version of Genie of the Lamp. If you were the Genie from the original work, you'd grant my wishes whenever I ask for them... Stingy!"
Tsukasa (Genie in the Lamp):
"Ngh... I'll pretend I didn't hear that. What harm could it do? I'll do you a special favor and this time only I'll grant you as many wishes as you want."
Shizuha (Aladdin):
"Awesome! Time to wish like crazy! Okay, first would you pass me that salt over there?"
Tsukasa (Genie in the Lamp):
"One salt shaker coming up."
Shizuha (Aladdin):
"Also, there's this book I've been meaning to read..."
Tsukasa (Genie in the Lamp):
"Bring as many books as you like."
Shizuha (Aladdin):
"I'd like your opinion on my outfit."
Tsukasa (Genie in the Lamp):
"That's my area of expertise."

Can you try my latest new Special Drink?
Tsukasa (Genie in the Lamp):
"I'll make sure to drink it all."

.....W-Wait, Special Drink!? Oh no!!!
Shizuha (Aladdin):
"I'm pretty sure I've mastered the recipe this time around, but no one wants to try it. Okay, here you go."

(Argh... A promise is a promise...)
Tsukasa (Genie in the Lamp):
"I-I'll make sure to drink it all".....Ugh......!!
Tsukasa (Genie in the Lamp):
"Ugh... W-What's your next wish?"
Shizuha (Aladdin):
"I'd like to hear what you think of the Special Drink."
:
*ding dong dang dong*
Shizuha (Aladdin):
"Oh, it's about time to get going. I'll save my next wish for next time. Thank you, kind Genie!"

Argh...l shouldn't have taken the role of the Genie of the Lamp so lightly!
Shizuha Returns

Hmm... I think I'll have omurice today.

I'm having curry! I think I'll have sweet curry today!

What do you mean today? You always have sweet curry! It's not really curry unless there's a little spice in it!

That's not true! If that really was the case, then why don't you ever try that curry called "That Spice Is at the Frontier of Spiciness! Ultra Spicy Curry"?

Well, there is this thing people call "common sense"...

Real curry that uses delicious and exotic spices is good, but that curry is not fit for human consumption.
Lunch Lady:
Omurice and sweet curry coming up.
:
Let's eat!
:
Mmm...

The school cafeteria at Frontier is so delicious that it even has a reputation at other schools. Do you know why?

It's probably because the students at Frontier are a little more fussy when it comes to taste compared to other schools. The teachers are quite the connoisseurs, too.

I heard that they are even pretty fussy about the crockery, too. Even the curry is kept in this funny-looking lamp thing.

That's called a saucepot or a gravy boat.

Really? It looks like a lamp to me. Do you think it might actually be a real lamp? Perhaps if we give it a little rub, you'll play the Genie of the Lamp for us?

Ah, you heard from Shizuha?

She said you granted her many wishes! I wanna play Aladdin and the Genie with you too!

(That experience with Shizuha wasn't a pleasant one... It's been a few days and I can still taste that Special Drink...)

...You don't want to?

............
Tsukasa (Genie in the Lamp):
"I am the Genie of the Lamp. Aladdin, I will grant you anything you wish."

Yay!
Tsukasa (Genie in the Lamp):
"If you decide to wish now, I'll grant you any three wishes of your choosing! You're not allowed to use a wish to wish for more wishes, though!"

Hurray!

You can only have three wishes... Um, also, you have to play the part of Aladdin properly!
Lalafin (Aladdin):
"Okay, first of all, I want you to eat the green bell peppers in my salad!"
Tsukasa (Genie in the Lamp):
"Sure thing! Nom, nom..."

Hehe, you really ate them! This is super fun!
Tsukasa (Genie in the Lamp):
"And for your next wish?"
Lalafin (Aladdin):
Hmm... I know! "Please give me a bite of your Genie Omurice!"
Tsukasa (Genie in the Lamp):
"Open wide! Aaaam..."
Lalafin (Aladdin):
*munch munch* Mmm... *munch*
Tsukasa (Genie in the Lamp):
"Make sure to chew well!"
Lalafin (Aladdin):
"Okay! This Aladdin is a fussy eater, but he'll make sure to eat lots of what he likes!"
Tsukasa (Genie in the Lamp):
"And for your last wish, what would you like?"
Lalafin (Aladdin):
"My last wish... Hmm.... Aaaa... Hmm... I've got it!"
Lalafin (Aladdin):
"I'd like to help people who need help, so I want to be strong! I want your advice on what to do!"
Tsukasa (Genie in the Lamp):
"I see...my advice? That's a little outside my area of expertise, so I'll summon another genie. One that will be able to help you more."
Shizuha (Genie in the Lamp):
"The second genie emerges from within the lamp -- *rattle rattle*."

Shizuha!?
Shizuha (Genie in the Lamp):
"Wanting to get strong to help others is a truly noble wish. I have prepared a Special Drink for a person as noble as you."

Whaaat!? Eating my bell peppers is easier to stomach than having a Special Drink!

See ya!
Shizuha (Genie in the Lamp):
"Bell peppers!? This drink is really easy to drink and goes down a treat!"

Aaaaa, there's a genie chasing me! I don't want your Special Drink!!

Hahaha.... The next targets will be Aruru and Misora. I'd better give them a heads up.
Shizuha (Genie in the Lamp):
"I've got you! If you want to help those who need help, you're going to have to drink this all down!"

Arrrrgh!!!

...Shizuha looks like she's having fun and the drink is good for Lalafin's health, so I guess all is well that ends well.

It's hard to play non-human characters, but it taught me that I can become anything I want on stage.

I actually don't know what I'd wish for if the Genie turned out to be a real thing...

Oh, I know! Since I'm going to play the Genie, I'd wish for Aladdin to help me with practice!

--Wait a second. I could just ask Shizuha. Hmm... When I think about it, I don't think I'd need a Genie to get my wishes granted...
