Shōjo☆Kageki Revue Starlight (少女☆歌劇 レヴュースタァライト, Girls'☆Musical Revue Starlight) is a Japanese multimedia franchise created by Bushiroad and Nelke Planning, announced on April 30, 2017[1]. It consists of an anime television series, anthology film, and sequel movie by Kinema Citrus; several musicals; original and adapted manga; a mobile game by Ateam Entertainment Inc; and a visual novel console game by Frontwing Lab. The franchise is heavily inspired by the Takarazuka Revue, a popular Japanese all-female musical theater troupe.
Plot[]
"Starlight" is an age-old story performed and loved throughout the world. Karen Aijo and Hikari Kagura promise as children to perform it together one day on their "stage of fate". Time passes, and as Karen prepares to perform Starlight at the 100th Seisho Festival in her second year at Seisho Music Academy, she suddenly has a fateful reencounter with Hikari Kagura. They and the other "Stage Girls" join a mysterious audition where they must sing, dance, and battle in revues to become the Top Star.
