Notes[]
- ↑ Santé ! is what one says when making a toast in French, ie. Cheers!. "Let's make a wager" could then be a reference to wagering a drink for a bet.
- ↑ This line starts with Claudine singing まやかし (mayakashi, deception), which is a reference to Maya's name.
- ↑ This line starts with Maya singing くろ (kuro, black), which is a reference to Claudine's name. "Kuro" is also written in hiragana instead of the kanji for black (黒), likely to emphasize this.
Trivia[]
- The song's original title was "Utsukushiki Hito Arui wa Sore wa Koi no Uta ka", (美しき人 或いは其れは恋の歌か; A Beautiful Person, Or Perhaps It Is a Love Song). Director Tomohiro Furukawa decided to remove the end of the title as it stated it too directly, instead wanting to let the viewers fill in the rest of the title.[1]
- Clocking in at 10:51, this is the longest-running original song to come from the Shōjo☆Kageki Revue Starlight movie, as well as the longest-running in the franchise overall.
- During the final chorus of this song, a re-arrangement of the music used for the final chorus of Hokori to Ogori can be heard.
- Both songs were composed and arranged by Yoshiaki Fujisawa.
- According to composer and arranger Yoshiaki Fujisawa, in an interview included in the official pamphlet for the movie, the classical music pieces that provided inspirations for this song's creation are Russian composer Modest Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition suite, French composer Maurice Ravel's Pavane pour une infante défunte (Pavane for a Dead Princess), German composer Richard Wagner's Walkürenritt (Ride of the Valkyries), and various pieces by German composer Ludwig van Beethoven.
